Ben Ashby,英国巴斯大学数学系研究员,加州大学伯克利分校访问学者,博士毕业于牛津大学,博士论文获得Thomas Henry Huxley Award and Marsh Prize。主要研究领域为进化理论生态学,兴趣包括生物多样性,进化动态与稳定策略以及物种局部适应性等研究,尤其在宿主-寄生的协同进化动态及其与生物群落之间的相互作用机制研究中做出了优异工作,成果发在Nature, PNAS, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Ecology Letters, Proc R Soc B等Top期刊,并获得NERC Independent Research Fellowship等项目支助。
报告简介:
It is widely recognized that ecology can have a major impact on evolution, yet much of our understanding of host-parasite coevolution is based on theoretical models that lack population dynamics. I will discuss how and why ecology fundamentally changes coevolutionary outcomes between hosts and parasites, the consequences this is likely to have for predictions of patterns of diversity across space and time, and implications for the evolution sexual reproduction.
